Speaker Profile Liese van Dam

Liese van Dam Photo Liese started practicing yoga in 1997 and was immediately intrigued by the way each asana is a reflection of our life and how the practice of Yoga teaches us how we can best deal with the challenges we come across. Originally trained as a Sivananda Teacher she taught for several years extensively throughout the International Sivananda Organization. In 1996 she commenced training with Birthlight and completed the pre- and postnatal Yoga courses.

As a student of Ayurveda Liese is continuously looking for the link between Yoga and Ayurveda and how these two practises combined can best support women before conception, during pregnancy, childbirth and in the postnatal period. Yoga and Ayurveda are two sides of the same coin and practice of the one deepens the experience of the other and vice versa. Both disciplines provide easy to follow guidelines. In 2002 Liese returned to her country of birth, The Netherlands were she now teaches yoga in the Sivananda tradition, pre- and postnatal yoga, partnerworkshops and gives lectures on Ayurveda.
