Title: Speaker Profile

Margaret Adey

Margaret Adey Photo Margaret Adey has worked with Françoise Freedman and the team over the last eight years to build Birthlight as a dynamic organisation that is a leader in the field and responsive to the needs of its members and the wider parenting public. Both of Margaret’s sons were Birthlight babies during its early stages of growth – indeed one is just about to go to Sixth Form College!

Margaret is a Development Director at the University of Cambridge Programme for Industry, which develops the capacity of current and future leaders in business, governments and civil society to respond to contemporary societal challenges such as climate change. Margaret’s expertise lies in understanding how people learn; she uses her knowledge and experience to develop learning processes that change individuals and organisations in ways that move society towards sustainability. She is also an experienced coach, mentor and facilitator.

Margaret has a business background at senior management level. She has a degree in Environmental Sciences, a PhD in behavioural ecology and, before joining Cambridge University, practiced as a Gestalt psychotherapist for eight years.
