Naomi is an existential psychotherapist, specialising in working with mothers or parents of young children. She has pioneered courses on the history of mothering, and family relationships at Birkbeck College, the College of North East London, and the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling in London.

‘The Meaning of Motherhood’ – Keynote speaker at this conference in Auckland, New Zealand, run by Centre for Attachment, 28 November.
2008 I challenged an article on postnatal depression in Leaven, the international journal for La Leche League leaders. The article gave a narrowly physical account of post-natal depression. My response argued for an existential-psychological understanding, and was printed as ‘Point-Counterpoint’ in Leaven, July-August.
