The conference will be held at Homerton College in Cambridge, UK.
Homerton College and its HistoryHomerton is centuries old, beginning as a dissenting academy in 1695 in London. By the middle of the nineteenth century it had already begun to specialise in training teachers, and in 1894 moved to its present site in Cambridge. In 1976 Homerton became an Approved Society of the University of Cambridge and at the same time it began, again, to admit men. It was then part of the Faculty of Education, continuing and enhancing its contribution to excellence in education and playing a leading role in the great debates about the nature and function of education in our society. In 2001 Homerton took a further decisive step towards full integration with the University of Cambridge as a constituent college. While continuing to have close links with the Faculty of Education, and being home to many of those students whose main study will be education in all its forms, Homerton will also admit students in other Cambridge Tripos subjects, as well as the full range of Higher Degrees, and develop further its research and teaching community across the academic spectrum.
