Birthlight Patron Emma FreudBirthlight are delighted to announce that Emma Freud has very kindly agreed to become a Patron of Birthlight.Emma Freud has been working as a broadcaster for 20 years – in all media, from documentaries and current affairs to interview shows, and in most formats. For BBC1 she presented the documentary series ‘Sins Of The Flesh’, travelled throughout the Middle East for Everyman and for the last 12 years has helped to produce 7 hours of live TV and documentary for Comic Relief. For BBC2 she hosted her own chat show Plunder and reported for 3 years from The Edinburgh Festival on Edinburgh Nights. For Channel Four she’s presented the health series The Pulse, the news programme The Big Picture Show and the arts programme The Media Show. For ITV she hosted 27 hours of continual live television on the Telethon, presented the chat show Pillowtalk, and a weekly arts magazine programme ‘Theatreland’. On Radio she hosted the morning show on GLR, The Lunchtime Show on Radio One, numerous documentaries on Radio Four and is a regular reporter on Loose Ends. She’s presented the BAFTA Awards (BBC), The Turner Prize (Channel Four) and has worked for the last 14 years with her partner Richard Curtis as his script editor on Four Weddings And A Funeral, Notting Hill, The Vicar Of Dibley and Bridget Jones’s Diary and Love Actually. She is also a trustee of Comic Relief. In 2004 she and Richard started working full time for the Make Poverty History campaign, on the global efforts in 2005 to double the aid budget, drop the debt and change the trade laws.
